“Major renovations have been underway in my backyard as we transform it from a rocky mud-pit into a sensory wonderland for my four-year-old boy Logan. Logan has sensory processing disorder, which means he needs to perform certain physical activities to regulate his system and ‘feel right’. Being able to exert his energy in such a fun, safe and engaging way has been a god-send as he learns how to regulate himself and keep himself on an even keel with this combination of activities. And as we also have the wonderful Barbados hammock, I have a cosy ‘command centre’ where I can keep my eye on everything.
